Although not as numerous as other titles, there are still new Godzilla video games that come out every so often, especially when a new movie debuts. Some of the most recent games allow players to control one of the most famous movie monsters of all times in a variety of different situations.
Godzilla Unleashed is one of the latest Godzilla video games to come out in recent years. This version requires the player to assume the role of the Japanese giant in a 3-dimensional world where everything is up for grabs. You as the player are allowed to let Godzilla destroy a number of cities. San Francisco, New York, Sydney, Osaka and London are among the most notable environments you can place the movie monster in. Not only can you bring destruction to these cities, you can also battle other monsters using special moves and attacks. While maneuvering through each level you have to collect certain crystals, which can build your size, replenish your health and restore lost energy.
Another of the popular Godzilla video games is called Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee. This version contains over 14 other movie monsters that appeared on-screen with Godzilla in the films. From King Ghidora and Mothra to Mechagodzilla, the player is able to fight head to head in a variety of locations, including Seattle, Tokyo, Monster Island and San Francisco. Not only does this video game host battles it also has lively environments to make the game play appear more realistic (moving vehicles, locals running around and traffic lights for example).
